Finishing your media diploma at Long Road

The free choice project, along with the careers unit 24, represents the final part of your media diploma. Here are the key things you need to know:

•  If you are 12 UNIT student you should only need to complete one free choice unit 

•  For 18 UNIT students you will need to complete two free choice units - we suggest that these are linked and part of the same project

• You need to choose your units from the OCR course page

• You will need to make sure the unit is not one you have completed before

• You can work on your own or make a proposal with other - if you work in a group you will need to have defined job roles 

• You have been assigned a teacher to be your supervisor but you should seek help from all your class teachers or others with specialist knowledge

• YOU MUST SUBMIT A PROPOSAL AND HAVE IT AGREED BEFORE YOU START

• Projects can work well if they are for an actual client (eg a promo film for a small business, or a website or music video for a local band)

• picking something you are interested in or helps with your career progression is advisable!
